While watching a video using the program VLC, you have the option to zoom in or out, otherwise known as interactive zoom mode. This feature needs to be enabled in order to be functional.

To do so, simply follow the steps outlined in walkthrough below.

Zoom In/Out on a Video in VLC

Open VLC, and load the video of your choice. Click Tools > Effects and Filters:

Click Video Effects > Geometry, and check the box next to Interactive Zoom:

Next, click Close. The VLC zoom option is now enabled.

To use the feature, move the rectangular selection tool to select the area you want to zoom into and adjust the zoom level:
